John DeCaro

Founding principal, Elementum Advisors LLC

DeCaro is a founding principal and portfolio manager at Elementum. He also serves on the firm’s board of managers and is co-chairman of its nvestment committee. DeCaro is responsible for portfolio strategy and construction, investment selection, trading and hedging. Prior to Elementum, he co-managed Stark Investments’ reinsurance and risk-linked investments team from September 2005 to November 2009. DeCaro has 15 years’ experience managing a variety of reinsurance and risk-linked investment strategies. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in financial markets and trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, as well as being a Chartered Financial Analyst.
